There are three factors that assist in the solutions to problems: applying time, money and labour in amounts that are determined by the urgency of the problem. If you needed to wear away stone, a continuous drip of water would probably do the job - given time

Lateral thinking is actually very easy:

 

• Take the time and effort to develop about 8 solutions to your problem

 

• Review them all dispassionately

 

• Assemble a solution from components of the 8 solutions you first considered

 

• This will probably be the most elegant and effective solution of the lot
